Colors, art and tradition; You cannot talk about Mexico without talking about its culture, and crafts are part of the national cultural expression that has transcended generations. On your visit to the capital, you should not miss these three traditional crafts.
Alebrijes
Imaginary beings with the physical combination of different animals, both real and fantastic, that were born after a dream that Pedro Linares had with these creatures in 1936. Currently, they are considered an emblem of Mexican popular art. These brightly colored pieces are made with the cardboard technique.

Charro hat
Classic for Mexican culture, the charro hat is made mainly with rabbit fur that requires a special treatment and ironing process. Its decoration is achieved through handmade embroidery with multicolored or single-tone threads, almost always sequins.

Tree of life
The trees of life, originally from Metepec, are considered a true work of art. Made of clay, they are made up of images and symbols that were used to teach the history of creation.

When purchasing a piece of Mexican crafts, you take with you a part of Mexico and its culture. In the country, artisanal work is usually the livelihood of many communities that fight to preserve these traditions. That is why at Central Hoteles we have granted our spaces so that Mexican artisans can exhibit their pieces and, in turn, bring our guests closer to Mexican culture through specimens that they can acquire.
